Olivia Rubin launched her first womenswear line after graduating from the world-renowned Central Saint Martins College in London. Her final collection was chosen for the prestigious press show and won immediate attention from the press who cited her printed designs as one of the ‘standout collections'.
Rubin carried out placements with couturier Jacques Azagury, Tristan Webber and Jade Jagger. Her persistence and enthusiasm scored her work with Alexander McQueen, Dior and John Galliano in Paris, where she assisted with Galliano’s main line collections, designing prints that were chosen for his womenswear lines.
When Olivia decided to branch out alone her SS07 and SS08 collections were short listed for the Fashion Fringe Award Scheme and gave her the platform to exhibit her designs at London Fashion Week. AW09 saw Rubin’s first highly anticipated catwalk show in association with On/Off at the Science Museum.
The label has become known for Olivia's signature graphic prints, (including the renowned brick print) on a variety of simple yet feminine silhouettes. It is her outstanding prints that have lead to numerous collaborations including ASOS, Very.co.uk
Olivia has also started collaborating outside of the fashion world. She has worked with Proctor and Gamble on a range of printed scarves for Bold 2 in 1, Gigaset on a new marketing campaign and is currently the brand ambassador of the beauty brand Dove. INTRODUCING THE ATELIER COLLECTION
Renowned print and womenswear designer Olivia Rubin is thrilled to introduce her new Atelier range – offering seasonal ready-to-wear collections and bespoke made to order pieces.Launching with a more sophisticated aesthetic, the Olivia Rubin Atelier collection focuses on luxury evening looks using hand mastered prints and the best suppliers the UK has to offer.
This show-stopping new evening collection - entitled ‘Linear Floral’ - plays upon the manipulation of florals and their inspirational colours. From a more classic multi coloured petal print, to a line drawing that experiments with different sized flowers, Olivia’s feminine yet original approach remains key. Each piece is tailored to be both chic and individual, which has always been and still remains her design philosophy.
Furthermore, Olivia Rubin Atelier will be offering a bespoke design option; a one on one experience with Olivia herself, who will custom design and make a piece of your choice whether it be for a wedding, party or special occasion. All the fabrics are printed in the UK and hand made in Olivia’s atelier in West London.
Olivia has worked with her team for over 10 years and has a developed key relationships with all the suppliers she works with. The concept for this new evening line was born after Olivia herself struggled to find that perfect dress for a special occasion. Not wanting to turn up in the same dress as another guest, and cautious to avoid sky high couture prices, Olivia started making dresses for herself and her friends, realising that a lot of women strive for something that is different and exclusive yet affordable.
